Ingredients
_1 pkg active dry yeast
_1 c warm milk
_1/4 c sugar
_3 c all purpose flour (gold medal better for bread flour)
_2 eggs
_1/2 c butter,melted(plus 1/4 cup for brushing tops)
_1 tsp salt
Filling
_1 can(s) fruit filling (apricot,plum,poppy,berry)

Directions
1.Dough–method:In a large bowl,combine yeast,warm milk,sugar and one cup of flower.
Cover and let it rise until doubled in size.Beat together eggs, 1/2 cup of melted butter.
Add egg mixture to yeast mixture and blend. Stir in about two more cups of flower,1/2
cup at a time.The dough should be soft and moist.Knead dough for about ten minutes
on floured surface(add more flour if necessary)or use a Kitchen Aid mixer with a dough hook. Put dough in a greased bowl and let rise covered until doubled in size_about an hour.after dough has risen ,punch it down and pull off egg sized pieces. In your hands
roll pieces into balls and then flatten to about 3 inches in diameter.Brush with extra1/4 cup melted butter. Place flattened pieces on a greased cookie sheet,cover and let rise again for another half hour.After second rising ,with back of teaspoon gently make an indentation in the center of the dough(be careful not to flatten it to much)and fill with one tablespoon of fruit filling(recipe to follow)and sprinkle it with posy pka(recipe to follow).
Bake in oven at 350 f degrees for 15 to 25 minutes.Until tops begin to brown.Brush with
melted butter when you take them out of the oven and serve warm.Sprinkle generously
with brown sugar.

JAM recipe
Dried fruit filling—–method:Soak the dried fruit in water or liquor(rum)for a few hours or
overnight.When fruit is rehydrated ,cook on low for 15 minutes,adding sugar to taste
cinnamon  and lemon zest.Mash with a potato master until you have a puree.Canned
fruit filling method—Add 1 tablespoon of canned fruit filling to each pastry.Fresh peach filling–method.4peaches peeled,sliced and cubed 2t sugar 2t honey 1tsp cinnamon
on cook on med-high in sauce pan for 15 minutes while stirring.Puree or leave chunky and fill pastries.
