Spooky Shortbread Spider Cookies!

Welcome the Halloween season with these spooky shortbread cookies! Here’s what you  need:

  • 250g of butter

  • 125g caster sugar

  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 375g of plain flour

  • 100g milk chocolate

  • 24 giant chocolate buttons

  • edible candy eyes


How to make it!: 

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 160 degrees C (2/325 degrees F)

Step 2: Line 2 baking trays with baking paper

Step 3: Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy - then add vanilla

Step 4: Add in the flour, mix, and roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface about 1 inch thick

Step 5: Cut the dough into circles and bake for 15 minutes until golden

Step 6: Cool the finished cookies and decorate!


Decoration Tips! 

  1. Melt the chocolate into a bag and cut the tip for an easy piping bag

  2. Pipe out legs for the spider on the cookie and place a button in the middle as the body

  3. Finally use some melted chocolate to “glue the eye onto your spider cookies and you’re done!
